In addition to the shells, 80 Mile Beach is renowned turtle hatching spot. Before we departed we went looking to see if any turtles had laid eggs the night before.
We were lucky. Not long into our walk along the beach we spotted the telltale tracks of a green turtle making her way to the dunes to lay. We carefully followed and saw the nest, the decoy and her tracks back to the water. Another first for us on this trip.
Careful not to disturb anything we took our photos and left.
