South of Exmouth, the Eastern side of Cape Range National Park is accessible. It has two main sites, Charles Knife Canyon and Shothole Canyon.

The most spectacular was Shothole. You needed to go 4WDing to reach it and there were varying reports about the track. Eventually we decided it would be worth a risk. Abby did the drive in, negotiating a narrow, twisting and rocky 4WD track. It included sections of dry creekbed and nasty drops. She did superbly. Shothole Canyon was definitely the pick of the afternoon and the drive to get there was very pretty.

We were pushed yet again out of our comfort zone.
