For our first day in Cape Range National Park, the wind was up. The Visitor Centre advised best chance for a snorkel would be at Turquoise Bay.
It had quite a few advantages for our first snorkel. It was protected from the wind, was a simple calm bay, there was no current and we could all get used to it again before tackling the more difficult stuff. The snorkel was nice enough, with plenty of fish, but less colourful coral or structures. We weren’t complaining though. We all still enjoyed it. Plus, it was a very, very nice beach.
The only downer was Christian losing, then after more than 30mins of careful searching finding his wedding ring in the sand. Disaster was averted.
Wow lucky find
Yes. Very lucky. I was freaking out for a solid half an hour carefully sifting the sand. Abby was not impressed.
