It was time for us to have the famous Monkey Mia Dolphin experience. The wild dolphins visit the beach for hand feeding and plenty of photos.

The experience has changed since Christian was a child, swimming with them is a no-no. COVID-19 has changed it further, with only National Parks and a few volunteers able to hand feed them. This is probably a good thing given the seeming inability of over-eager tourists to follow instructions.

We did get the experience, watching them fed and play in the shallows. It was very, very cool. It did test our staying power though. The dolphins can start to arrive from 7.45am. Over three hours later, we were just about to give up when the dolphins finally arrived. The wait was more than worth it. Even the girls agreed.

Time to feed the dolphins! And avoid the cheeky pelican
