As we departed Kalbarri, we had one final stop to make, a visit to the Pink Lake.
It was as advertised, a very large salt lake that was bright, bright pink. The pink is caused by certain bacteria. We had no desire to get into the water, but it was very interesting to see. Especially when you consider that the bacteria are mined in the lake for use as a food colouring.
EVERYTHING about that lake says “Do NOT swim in here!”
