For our first day in Hyden we managed to view and climb both the big rocks; The Humps and Wave Rock.

They are much smaller cousins of Uluru, massive granite formations sitting in the seeming flat landscape. We walked The Humps in the late afternoon. Taking the trail around and over the top, seeing the lizards and gnamma (small waterholes). It gave a pretty special view.

At sunset we went to Wave Rock. As the name suggests, a massive rock shaped like wave stands 15m tall and 110m long. The colour at sunset was amazing. After walking its length, we climbed to the top and sat to watch the sunset. Yep, the heat was worth it.
