We had booked a lovely spot at Surfleet Cove in Lincoln National Park. Turns out we were sharing the site with thirsty bees.

They weren’t harmful or aggressive just thirsty. We had seen some advice that if you put some water out for them they will drink the water and leave you in peace. It was true, they drained the little bee trough and wanted more. Our error was we put the water too close to our site. Slow and careful movement kept us from being stung until they vacated our site after dark.
