Tours of the famous Tanunda Pipe Organ are hosted and the organ is played every Wednesday. We couldn’t miss it.
We are not musical people, but we certainly appreciate good music and design. This pipe organ was incredible. Both a musical and engineering masterpiece, it had survived over 150 years and was beautiful to both look at, watch work and above all listen too.
We got lucky, being taken inside it while it was played, got up close to see the detail and workings and were treated to several pieces of music. You didn’t so much as hear it as feel it as the sound surrounds you. It is something very special indeed.
