For our last full day in the Barossa, we headed south to see the Whispering Wall. It’s a dam wall with a special gift.
It was a cool dam to visit anyway, it’s not often the public can walk across the dam wall. It gave a nice perspective on both the water and just how freaking high these walls can be. This particular dam though has a special property. The height, length and curve of its wall mean that it is an amazing transmitter of sound.
You can stand at each at and literally whisper to one another, hearing perfectly clearly and surprisingly loud. It absolutely freaked Hannah out for the first few minutes. She thought we were playing a joke on her and there was a walkie talkie hidden. Funny.
