On the road between Yulara and Kings Canyon is Kathleen Springs. To save doubling back we explored it on the way.

Despite being one of the easiest walks we have done, it was still very pretty. The walk went up a gorge to the spring fed water hole at the end. It had been used to run cattle, but surprisingly they had always protected the final sections form the animals. It meant that it was still intact and pristine. The water was clearly a haven for wildlife and the vegetation was lush and green.

It was the start of our return to gorge country.
