Ahh the irony. On our last night of the trip, after 314 nights in the caravan, we found a site where the caravan legs don’t touch the ground.

Our last night was spent at a free camp on the banks of the Burdekin River near Charters Towers. It’s a pick your own spot kind of affair. We chose a spot, on the river front that was levelish. Next step was to push it back far enough to get the drawbar off the roadway. All good.

Later in the setup its was time to wind the legs down to keep things stable. The rear legs wouldn’t touch the damn ground. Not only is it a first for this trip, but it’s also a first for our caravanning life. We discovered why everyone else carries around blocks of wood.

Abby had a laugh, Christian rummaged around the grass and found some suitable rocks that did the job. There’s a first time for everything.
