Today was the first time we had really tackled an unsealed road. We had big plans to do more unsealed road, so this was an interesting test.
All was fine though, as the 80km section was in pretty good shape. The corrugations could be skimmed at about 45km/h and we could comfortably sit above that.
The only downer was the dust. Enormous amounts of dust that found its way onto and into everything. A small amount of dust got inside the van (we took a chance in not taping our vents) but every external surface of car and van was covered. Even after we stopped and setup, the camp hadn’t had much rain and it was in the air, your eyes, nose and mouth.
