We decided to explore a little bit of Darwin by bike. A route was agreed that would take us along the waterfront, out to East Point and back. Despite an early start it was hot, humid and sweaty.
The ride was pleasant. Nice and easy, past some pretty cliffs and the ocean but very, very warm. This resulted in no end of complaints about the heat, the hills, the lack of breeze and sweat. It was the first time the girls had ridden in their camelbaks. When we stopped for at East Point, the sweaty backs in the perfect shape of the camelbaks was a source of both outrage and wonder.
It was a combination of “that’s disgusting” (Laura) and “does mine look like that?” (Hannah). Welcome back to the tropics kids.
