07 October
After some long dusty roads since Darwin, everything we own was coated in a fine layer of red dust. Today nearly all of it was removed.
We’d (Christian) long ago given up in trying to keep everything clean. There was no point. But with a long stop in Broome planned it was time to get everything clean. We had slowly chipped away at the van and today was the car’s turn. Christian spent three hours on the interior, trying to get it to a state where touching something didn’t make you filthy.
He eventually succeeded, with the car requiring what felt like the longest interior clean ever. All that was left was just the (dreaded and filthy) under seat storage in the van to go.
