Besides Dinosaurs, Winton is known for the Waltzing Matilda Centre. A museum whose entire purpose is to celebrate Banjo Patterson’s famous song.
The new Centre was pretty good (the last one burnt down), with the main displays telling the story of the song and its influences very well.
There was another reason to choose Banjo – Hannah’s dinosaur souvenir has inherited the name Banjo. On his first full day of ownership, he was attached to her hip and Banjo was well and truly loved.
