Today was spent praying for sunshine and watching the battery monitor. We were perilously close to running out of power on our last day.

Three nights of off-grid camping is normally fine. The last two days were both heavily clouded and the solar wasn’t giving us much. The first night was very hot and we’d been running fans to keep cool, draining the battery.

Normally the heat meant sun, but the cool change that did away with the heat brought the clouds and we had very little charging. Adding to the frustration was this National Park prohibits generators. Super skint electricity use, fridge and freezer turned down and some well-timed car idling will have to get us through.

We walked the creek bed and up the slopes to take our mind off it all
