On our first walk in the Gawler Ranges we came across some bones. It sparked a long and at times tedious discussion.

What were the bones from? How did it die? Why were some bones missing? How long have they been there? We could not answer these questions. It did open the kids’ eyes to the fact that sometimes for one animal to eat (a dingo) another might have to die (a Euro). They weren’t as sure about the food chain after this but it was some valuable learning.
