Cleaning is an inescapable part of life. It is even more inescapable when you keep driving hundreds of kilometres of dirt roads.

Dust is an absolute pain in the butt. Red dust is the worst and it turns out the Kimberley red dust is the worst of all. Our exit from Karijini signalled a period where we’d be staying on the seal. It was time to clean our gear. The van didn’t get a wash, we just wiped the touch points. The car got its first wash since we left Mackay. Abby was sick of the fact that the slightest brush against it left you red and filthy with dust.

It took two hours, but damn it sparkled at the end.

The kids trying to navigate the Joffre Pool. Our last fun before the big clean.
