The Fitzgerald River National Park was still closed. We would miss both our nights, so we pushed a day trip to its doorstep.
We got as close as we could before hitting the road closed sign. From the distance, the park looked pretty good. Mountain ranges came right up to the coastline. We found the inlet, where even at this time of year there were plenty of birds before exploring the beach.
It was a shame we couldn’t get in, but this was better than nothing.
