Today we tried to explore what is known as the trickiest of the Cape Range snorkelling spots – “the drift” at Turquoise Bay.

We were warned that the current is strong. You need to make your way out of the water before the point, otherwise that current will take you out into the open ocean.

Our kids are strong enough swimmers to give it a go. It was good, we certainly saw some different corals again. The current combined with the need to keep the kids safe made it less enjoyable.

The adults set out alone for a while. We could explore more and some of the giant brain corals were amazing to see. Tough for sure, but certainly not for the kids.

Mandu Mandu Gorge. It seems beautiful gorges are inescapeable in WA.
