Today was our day trip in the East Macdonnell Ranges. Time meant we couldn’t camp there, so this was our best alternative.

It was not a bad alternative either; Jessie Gap, Emily Gap and Corroborree Rock before making our way into Trephina Gorge. We did the loop walk which took us along the top of Trehpina Gorge. It returned along the creek bed. Then we had to decide between the Chain of Ponds walk at another section of Trephina (down a 4WD track) or see the Indigenous Etchings further up the road.

We decided on the Chain of Ponds and were not disappointed. Despite a hot start, it soon rewarded us with a beautiful gorge, the chain of ponds were filled with water. The whole place reminded us all strongly of Karijini and we loved it. Not a bad way to finish the final long walk of our trip.
