Just off the coast from Victor Harbor is Granite Island. It is home to a Penguin colony and is accessed by either a horse drawn tram or walk along the jetty.

As we visited so late in the day, we decided to save our money and walk over. It was hardly far and the views from the jetty were pretty cool. Plus, we watched the tram trundle past us. The island itself was small enough to circumnavigate on foot. The whole walk gave some nice views of the island, town and out to sea.

Sadly, the penguin colony is in decline and they are very rare to see these days.
