Knox Gorge was the first of our really difficult hikes. We knew it wasn’t the most difficult of the hikes but was a good way to get some practice.

It had a steep entrance to get into it but that wasn’t too bad. It was the cliff face we needed to sneak around that was the most challenging. Edging along the narrow ledge you needed to find handholds and make your way around the corner. Easier said than done it turned out. We all made it and it seemed much easier on the return leg.

It was certainly pretty, but without flowing water nearly all the pools had gone stagnant so swimming was out of the question. It was a great introduction to this side of Karijini National Park.
