We knew our exit from the Wolfe Creek Crater would be long, slow and bumpy. But in this case it came with an added bonus, lizard spotting.

The low speeds, combined with an early start meant the for the first hour or so we were sharing the road (if you want to call it that) with lizards sunning themselves. We could spot dozens of them by simply looking out the windows. It was quite unique, these lizards of different sizes seemed rather unconcerned with the 4WD and caravan. They might put a head up or take a few steps, but they were more interested in the warmth than anything else.
