Our arrival at El Questro was later in the day and the heat meant we wouldn’t be doing too much. One option was to take a 4WD track up to the lookout for sunset.

With our lack of 4WD experience, we choose only the easiest track to drive. After towing the van from Kununurra, Christian handed the driving duties to Abby. It was her first 4WD track, which included her first creek crossing. Showing another hidden talent, she got us to the lookout for sunset.

With beautiful 360-degree views over the station and river it was a spectacular lookout. Sunset over the red rock was very beautiful, but with a tricky drive back we had to depart before we got the full colours.

It was such a good spot, we planned to return.
