After a solid morning of schoolwork, we hit the beach for some afternoon fun. Time to manu off the jetty.
Hannah wanted to jetty jump so Christian walked out with her to supervise. The local boys were putting on a pretty good manu show. Hannah gave it a go as well. Eventually this included jumping off the jetty handrail for extra height. The boys were pretty good, giving her tips and helping her out.
Eventually Abby and Christian decided to brave the cold water. Christian would only enter via the jetty, so we joined the manu party. All was going fine until Hannah over-rotated, resulting in a big back slapper. It stung and her whole back was red from the slap.
As we walked off she stated, “if I had eight legs I’d be a redback spider.” Pretty funny really.
