After spending money like it was it was limitless on our way to Mount Isa, visiting Lake Moondarra was the extent of our tourist activities there. We spent most of an afternoon there having a (free) look around.
It was built to supply water for the Mount Isa Mine. It is pretty enough with a couple of short walks, a lookout and a pleasant foreshore. Abby and I spent most of our visit there plotting our last-minute change of plans. We had decided to change our itinerary and tick off a bucket list item before heading to the NT.
