The Oyster Stacks need a high tide to allow a snorkel there. With only a limited window in which to explore we had to give it a crack today.
It wasn’t easy. Even with a high tide, there isn’t too much water above the coral. It was also choppy, with the wind whipping the surface up. To top it off, getting into the water was tricky too.
No complaints though, it was worth it. The Oyster Stacks are probably the best of the Cape Range snorkelling sites. It had the brightest coral, turtles, fish, clams, most interesting structures and was quite a large area to explore.
The kids gave up early as they got cold, so Abby and Christian could explore a little without them. Even better without responsibility for a few minutes.
