As Broome is so famous for pearls, we decided we would wander down its equivalent of high street and do some window shopping.
After Kununurra it would definitely only be window shopping. The souvenir budget was tapped out. We had never been particularly interested in pearls, but some of these jewellery pieces were exquisite. There is something to be said for a natural product like pearls, which are all unique and a skilled jeweller working with it to create something special.
Abby found one necklace she liked. It was beautiful, using an imperfectly round pearl. But with a nearly $8000 price tag, it wasn’t coming with us.
