It was beginning to feel a little too good to be true; tow vehicle in the driveway; car accessories in development and we assumed no news was good news on the caravan front. The caravan was delayed (first by five weeks, followed by another two) and the tow vehicle accessories were still being developed months later. COVID is a challenge and it is not getting easier for those who make or build things for a living.

We were starting to think it was unlikely we’d start our trip with enough winter to see the NT and make in either west to WA or south to SA before the weather becomes too hot. Was it worth the trip if we’d be unable to really see and do the things we wanted? Probably not. Would we have enough money (and still be enjoying ourselves enough) to do it next winter? Who knows.

It turns out it doesn’t actually matter, it will be easy to fill the gaps in (hence the Holding Pattern Blog was born). It’s possible to travel and explore wherever we are. We can spend our budget and enjoy ourselves. It’s still family time, down time, and no work time. The inflexible Christian is going to need to learn to change and adapt. Plans are to be viewed as a guideline only.
