Arriving in Coral Bay, it was too windy to snorkel so we went to see the shark nursery instead. A short walk around the bays took us to the shallow waters where the sharks congregate to feed and grow.
The time, tide and wind made our shark spotting job harder than it needed to be, but we certainly saw a handful of sharks, as well as different rays and fish. The sharks were hard to spot, but a few of the dark shadows moved quickly. Those with keen eye could watch and see the fins and know they had spotted a shark. Those we saw ranged from less than a metre to what look close to two metres.
We didn’t see the hundreds that others claim to see, but we will try again before we depart.
