We decided to make an overnight stop in Port Hedland. With a free camp in town, we could see the sites and move on.

Far from our favourite stop, Port Hedland did have one curiosity. We spent some time watching the giant iron ore ships being loaded at the port. With the kids happy in a playground watching the ships slowly load with ore filled the time. They are incomprehensively massive, taking hours to load and quickly being replaced by another.

Makes you wonder how there is any of Western Australia left!
