After months of searching, waiting, watching and expectation we saw the elusive Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.

We have been trying to spot this creature since we started visiting National Parks in SA. It was fitting that we finally spotted one in the last we would visit. Ironically, it was also the park where the first ranger we met said we were most likely to see them.

It doesn’t matter as all the waiting was worth it. Within a few minutes of arriving at the viewing area, we spotted the first of them hopping around the scree face. Their striped tail and yellow feet make them really distinct and their smaller size and curious yet skittish nature was entertaining to watch.

We will return for a second visit.

On the hop. Well spotted by Hannah
